The International Center for Productive Investment is the Venezuelan State's official investment promotion agency. It is the State's point of contact for anyone who wants to invest: it presents the country's opportunities, guides the structuring of each project and tracks each file with State agencies.
Four tasks: promoting the country, opening opportunities in any industry, guiding procedures and bringing the investor's voice into the rules.
We position Venezuela with international capital as a destination for productive investment. We present the country, with data, to companies, funds and institutional investors. The Fundación Instituto Marca País, a foundation attached to the CIIP, supports this task.
We open every industry to productive investment. An opportunity can start from the investor's own thesis or from a State asset with room for private capital. In both cases we identify the government counterpart and the investment structure.
We tell you what your project requires, submit your procedures to each agency and track your file with State agencies.
We bring the investor's perspective into the design of the rules. We document the obstacles projects face and propose to the responsible agencies changes to regulations and procedures that give investment more certainty.
One law creates the CIIP and another designates it as the investor's gateway to the Special Economic Zones.
The CIIP was established in 2020 by a constitutional law published in Official Gazette Extraordinary No. 6.583. That instrument empowers the State to attract and protect productive investment, and it is the source of the CIIP's mandate as the agency dedicated to that task.
Read the legal instrument →Article 27 of the LOZEE, the Organic Law on Special Economic Zones published in Official Gazette Extraordinary No. 6.710 of July 2022, designates the Center as the investor's point of entry. Every project in a special economic zone enters through the Center, which evaluates the company's profile and certifies the project.
