Sulzer and PDVSA sign a five-year framework agreement
The Swiss engineering company will supply equipment and services for processing heavy and extra-heavy crude from the Orinoco Belt and Lake Maracaibo.
On October 27 the Swiss engineering company Sulzer reported the signing of a five-year agreement with PDVSA.
The framework sets future orders for equipment and services in production, pipelines, refining and fuel distribution. It includes equipment maintenance and process services.
The agreement is aimed at processing heavy and extra-heavy crude from the Orinoco Belt and Lake Maracaibo.
No amounts or guaranteed orders were disclosed. The signing follows the September update of US Treasury authorizations to supply equipment to Venezuela's energy sector.
Sulzer chief executive Suzanne Thoma said the company's long presence in the country has given it deep knowledge of the market.
